:O @ As The World Turns. I'm sometimes quite critical of Van Hansis, but he just blew me away today. Even though I am so not happy with Holden being dead, Luke's response, and all the scenes with him and Noah were just...amazing, really. Phenomenal. I sort of can't help but feel original Lily would have been infinitely better in her scenes than new!Lily was though. I think she could have done better with the child actors, too. Ethan was kind of excusable, I get that he wouldn't have understood, etc, etc. Faith was just bad, especially the scenes at the farm and with Ethan. Slightly better in the confronting Lily and Damian bit. I guess she's due a SORA-y recast soon anyway.

The bit that really made me cry was the "You need anything?" "Yep. My dad." with Damian, I just...oh God, I know it's only a soap, but...I haven't cried that much since Max died on Hollyoaks or Julian died on Alles was zählt.

Speaking of which, AWZ also amazing today. Axel with the gun and Maximilian having to direct him where to point it was hilarious. I quite liked their whole dynamic actually, and I was thinking that before the lift scene, so I don't think I've being entirely vain and slash goggly. Deniz and Roman, though...*contented sigh*. The bit with Marian outside the centre, the ice skating, the locker room fantasies, Roman's hissy fit, Nina's reveal, Roman's pining...and all in one episode! Is there a single Ollian episode comparable? I suppose the one from the 4th of June. And the sexy lake-times one. And the one where they get caught by Grandetski. And, and, and...alright, but DeRo are on fire atm, is what my point is.

I hadn't noticed this before, but I love the way the Carla sort of backs against the wall when she was confronted with Stella's birthday party. The flatshare is apparently no place for a countess.

The video is only 3 minutes long. How can there be so much wrongness in 3 minutes? Along with the constant grammatical errors, vodka/wodka mix-ups, and that basically every single sentence ends with an exclamation mark, I'm beginning to wish they wouldn't bother doing subtitles at all. Because they'd still end up being fan-subbed, and probably about a thousand times better. I mean, presumably someone is actually being paid to do this. There'd be better results if they just ran it through Babelfish.

On the other hand, it does appear to be in vaguely British English (...well, 'humour' is spelt with both its 'u's, anyway), which pleases me. And I think I am definitely going to have to incorporate "But next time you're frustrated you shouldn't get sloshed!" into the next appropriate conversation (or maybe an inappropriate one).

With regards to the actual content of the video (which, to be fair, is the most important bit really), I don't understand Olli's attitude to the Miriam kiss at all. I get that he's forgiven Christian, and is a lot more worried about Christian's boxing/work troubles than about a drunken snog, but still. I'd understand if he were a little blasé about it maybe, but the way he's making fun of Christian about it is weird. Almost like he's enjoying it in a way, which baffles me. Unless it's like, a defence mechanism or something, but even so, why would you be desperate to tell your Ibizan friends about how your boyfriend cheated on you as if it's the funniest thing that ever happened? I suppose unless he was trying to make Christian feel a little bit guilty? But that would be fairly out-of-character. Then again, this is meant to be the same day he finds out about it, I don't see how he could be like "LOL, Christian kissed a waitress XDDDDDD" in the evening, when he spent the afternoon looking like he was about to cry about it. Unless he's a bit of a psycho?

I'm not terribly impressed by Christian's "okay, fine, here are my boxing gloves"-apology either. Both arguments today went straight through the "fight, 'sorry', hug" formula without them actually talking properly or resolving anything. Even the vlog managed to have them speaking without ever really saying anything to each other. Maybe it'll build to something.

I loved Judith at the end of today's ep.

Alright, it's a long shot, but there's got to be some reason for those hideous scarves.

I'm getting slightly tired of the "have an argument, let Christian storm off, wait for Christian to calm down, then have sex"-formula that Verbotene Liebe seem to be following so strictly with Ollian at the moment. They may well as just stick with the pr0n bits, because the constant fighting and then making up without actually resolving anything isn't really working, I don't think. Or at least cut out the middle man and jump straight from fight to sex without the cooling off period in between. Maybe Olli's being all "Christian, you shouldn't take the stairs with your heart condition, get in the lift," and Christian's like "FFS, I can still walk up some steps," but they take the lift anyway and then the lift gets stuck (maybe it is the one in the Steinkamp Sport and Wellness Centre), and Christian says "See, now we're going to be late!" and Olli's "Sorry for not wanting you to die!" and Christian gets all sulky and sits in the corner, and Olli keeps whining about how Christian should be more careful, and Christian gets more and more pissed off until he angrily stands up and shoves Olli into the lift wall, rawrs, and kisses him. Cue hot sexy-sex.

Well, I'd watch it.

I just think the constant extinguishing and then reigniting of passion isn't really doing it for me with Ollian. Even the scenes with Gregor and Christian today it was all shouty one minute, then calm, then a bit shouty again over and over. It's been established that Olli is a bit prone to random mood swings on occasion, but right now he's being the most consistent one. Then perhaps that's just because he's been having to work around Christian's mood a lot more at the moment.

Sometimes I think they should just break Ollian (...wait, should I be saying 'Chrolli' now, as that's the official word...w/e) up for a while. They could get them back together at the end, but it would give them more scope for individual storylines, and then it would make the fans even happier when they have a happy reunion. At the moment it's like the writers aren't even considering letting the relationship become more precarious (through fear of upsetting fanbase? idk). None of their fights last more than an episode or two, and then it's still made fairly clear that it they're not really "fight" fights, more just spats. Now I'm not an expert on writing soaps, but surely that's not the best way to create drama (and thus, viewers)? Or, if they stay together and the fights between them are rubbish, why not go back to having them united against an outside threat (like it was against Grandetski, Axel, the Press, etc.)? They could bring Olli's homophobic mum back and do her lack of acceptance. I mean, that would sort of be the exact same storyline as before, but they didn't mind repeating the dodgy karaoke as a sign of love by Olli/Judith (incidentally, is that a German thing or just a crazy soap thing? surely making someone listen to you sing when you know it is far from pleasant is mean, rather than loving, butI digress), and I can't imagine a whole lot of people have watched from back then and/or remember it (I certainly don't remember what was happening on Easties 8 years ago). Anyway.

I'm off to bed because it's...nearly 7am?! Where did the time go? Stupid Sex Up 2 - ich könnt' schon wieder eating my nighttime. (Not really as good as the first, imo, if anyone's wondering, but still boy-touching à go-go, and it isn't completely awful.)
